The dog days of summer are here but the walleye bite on Winnie remains strong. Water temps are hovering around 72F and the fish have moved to deeper structure.

**Current Conditions**
Fishing has been consistent in 20-30 feet of water. The key has been finding the right bottom composition – gravel and rock transitions are holding the most fish. Slip bobber rigs with leeches are producing limits for our clients.

**Hot Spots**
– The Bar: Gravel bars in 22-26 feet producing quality eater walleyes
– Stony Point: Rock to mud transitions holding larger fish
– Center Bar: Early morning topwater action for northern pike

**Guide Tip**
Don’t be afraid to fish deep during the midday hours. The thermocline has set up around 28 feet and the walleyes are suspended right above it.
