Spring on Cass Lake means one thing – incredible northern pike fishing! The pike are moving into the shallows to spawn and they are hungry.

**Current Conditions**
Water temperature is 45F and the pike are in pre-spawn mode. They can be found in the shallow weedy bays and along the edges of spawning areas. This is prime time for trophy pike.

**Hot Spots**
– Allen Bay: Shallow weed flats in 3-6 feet
– Birch Point: Cabbage beds producing quality fish
– Douglas Point: Creek mouths with warmer water

**Pike Tactics**
Use large spoons and spinnerbaits in silver and gold patterns. Cast parallel to weed edges and retrieve at medium speed. Steel leader is essential to avoid bite-offs.
