The walleye bite has been absolutely incredible this week on Lake Mille Lacs! Water temperatures are sitting right at 62°F, and the fish are actively feeding in 15-25 feet of water.
**Current Conditions**
The walleye have been relating to rock piles and weed edges. We have been having our best success using live bait rigs with nightcrawlers and leeches. Jigging with minnows has also produced some nice fish.
**Hot Spots**
– North end rock reefs producing limits consistently
– West side weed edges holding quality slot fish
– Deep holes near Spirit Island giving up trophy-sized walleye
**Tips from the Guides**
If you are planning a trip this week, focus on the early morning and evening bites. The midday action has been slower, but the quality of fish has been worth the wait.
